ToricProTrac is a iPhone/ iPod image capture and protractor app designed to aid the placement of toric IOLs by cataract surgeons, thus eliminating the need for pre-OP scleral pen marks. This app is for ophthalmic professionals interested in a tool to quickly capture an image of an eye and align landmark lines (2) to iris or scleral features. The app allows capturing directly, timed, or zoomed and to set camera and light features prior to capturing an image. Two landmark lines can be set manually. Its angles are recorded while the orientation (vs. real world vertical/horizontal) of the camera is indicated by a protractor. This app helps to gain repeatable alignment. Captured images are stored with selectable screen annotations. In addition a screenshot can be captured to store landmark lines and data on top of the captured image. Both files (snapshot and screenshot) are stored in separate folders in the devices photo album. They can be printed (by airprinter), emailed or shared with other applications. The app can be used in password protected mode.
